Note

Be careful:

  1. In the niqud, if the first letter of the word is הַ: Do not mistake for words ptr N-d04 having a gutural for their first consonant and being preceded by the interrogative particle ה as in הַאִם, perhaps? is it true? (Job 6:13)

  2. In the hasar haniqud, if the first letter of the word is ה: Do not mistake for words ptr N-d04 having a gutural for their first consonant and being preceded by the interrogative particle ה as in האם, perhaps? is it true? (Job 6:13)

  1. Several nouns, either masculine or feminine, fit this pattern in their absolute form:

    1. Masculine:

      [1Sa 1:24]wineיַיִן / יין
      [Exo 12:42]nightלַיִל / ליל

      Caution

If the word ends in ם maybe it is a dual: מַיִם / מים, water (Gen 1:6)

    2. Feminine:

      [Exo 21:24; Pro 31:25]eye; ayin (Hebrew letter)עַיִן / עי"ן
